  • Cello Unit 4 with Heather Hadley

    Join us in Oregon to continue your Suzuki training.

    This class will be offered online and in person, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm (PST), with observations in the afternoons.

    Can't travel with your cello? Request to borrow a cello for the duration of the institute for no additional charge.

  • Viola Unit 5 with Charles Reguaer

    This is a great opportunity to learn about the differences in the violin and viola repertoire, and why violists start shifting SO early!

    This class will be offered online and in person, Sunday-Thursday, 2:00-5:00pm (PST), with observations in the mornings.

  • Violin Practicum with Ann Montzka-Smelser

    This class will be offered online and in person, Sunday-Thursday, 2:00-5:00pm (PST), with observations in the mornings.

    Ann is one of the most thoughtful, creative, and insightful Suzuki teachers. Taking Practicum with her was one of the best classes I (Rebekah) have ever taken!

  • Violin Unit 1 with Edmund Sprunger

    You don’t want to miss this class with Ed! He has incredible insights into starting beginning violin students and his knowledge is invaluable to new and experienced teachers.

    This class will be offered in person, Saturday through Saturday, June 26-July 3, with a few sessions before online, to get folks started.

  • Teacher Observations

    All teachers can come to OSI and observe student classes for the week. We have over 450 classes, 10 performances, and 5 parent/teacher talks you can attend for only $90. Register as a teacher and join us for an awesome week of music!

    $90 for Oregon Suzuki Association Members, $120 for non-members (both costs include the registration fee of $50).

    **Non-OSA members will get OSA membership by registering for teacher observations at OSI.

  • Piano Unit 2 with Teaching Strategies with Caroline Fraser

    The life work of Caroline Fraser and the Suzuki Method has made a tremendous impact on communities across the world. She has an incredible spirit and deep knowledge and experience of teaching children, parents and teachers in many cultures, often times not only implementing the musical and pedagogical ideas in the community but enhancing the spirit of the people. She embodies the principles of Dr. Suzuki and his philosophy that "all children can."

    This class is in person only and the hours of class, including observations. This includes 15 hours of Unit 2, 10 hours of strategies, and 8 hours of observation.

    Sunday, 9-noon and 2-6pm

    Monday-Thursday, 9-noon and 2-5pm

    Friday, 9-noon

    $500 for both classes
